Al-Falah Model Clinic

The Clinic was originally established by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in 1972. From 1975 to 1984 a Mission NGO HEED Bangladesh run this clinic and handed over it to Al-Falah Bangladesh in 1985.Which managed to run this Clinic with local support until 1990. In 1991 ODA (Overseas Development Administration) of the British Government signed an Agreement with Al-Falah Bangladesh to provide financial and technical support for the Clinic. which continued its support to the Clinic up to 2000. After 10 years, the Al-Falah Model Clinic at Geneva Camp once again reorganized to serve the community who has no adequate access to health services like immunization of the children, family planning and maternity services.

The Clinic in its limited resources delivers the following services to the community:

* Antenatal & Post Natal check-up;
* Child Immunization
* Limited Curative Services to mothers and children;
* Family Planning;
* Circumcision;
* Health Education;
* Referral Services

Health Education

For Immunization programs, the clinic receives free vaccines through Health Department of Dhaka City Corporation.
4 sponsored students who are specially trained by the EDP provide health education to the community under an experienced supervisor.
They organize meetings in field and clinic and disseminate information and education on the following subjects:

  • Personal Hygiene, Safe Motherhood and risk at home delivery;
  • Breast Feeding, Extended Program of Immunization (EPI), Maternal and Child Nutrition, Worm Infection, Night Blindness, Skin Diseases, ART, Diarrheal Disease and ORS;
  • Family Planning; RTI (Reproductive Tract Infections), STI, HIV/AIDS.
